Book Club

What happens when suburban mothers meet for their book club and wind up in a male strip club? A possible trip to Venice! Lunchbox Theatre is happy to announce we will be performing Meredith Taylor-Parry’s Book Club in a world premiere from February 8, 2016 to February 27, 2016. An audience favourite at the 2014 Stage One festival, this mad cap, adventure-filled romp demonstrates the all-too-real pressures of motherhood and reveals just how far true friends will go for each other.

Jenny is the perfect wife and mother. At least that’s what her book club thinks until one day she disappears; now they have to turn detective and follow her trail! Watch as a meeting of the titular “book club” turns into a game of cat and mouse. Four friends have to use their brains and a little bit of their brawn on a wild goose chase to fiend their elusive friend!

This outrageously funny show is directed by Shari Wattling and written by Calgarian playwright, Meredith Taylor-Parry, winner of the Merit Play-writing Festival in 2013. Grab your favourite group of friends and have a glass of wine! This is going to be one adventurous ride!

Book Club runs from Feb. 8 to Feb 27, Monday to Saturday at 12:00 p.m., and Thursdays and Fridays at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are available at the Lunchbox Theatre box office, by phone at 403-265-4292 x 0 or at tickets.lunchboxtheatre.com.
