Tuesday, October 9, 2012 – Pre-show 6pm, Concert 7pm
EPCOR CENTRE's Jack Singer Concert Hall
"…it’s that uniquely distinctive Chieftains sound – mellifluous one moment, rip-roaring the next..." ~ BBC
It is hard to believe that this will be The Chieftains’ 50th Anniversary Tour. Their newest collaborative album, Voice of Ages, celebrates their legacy with folk favourites Bon Iver, indie historians The Decemberists and Irish rockabilly singer Imelda May. The Chieftains’ band leader, Paddy Maloney, is one of the world’s most recognizable Celtic entertainers.
With 79 albums to their credit, this band keeps on going and growing. Though this performance will be steeped in nostalgia, it is a show that will inspire every generation with the simplicity of a wonderful musical experience. Everybody’s Irish on this special night!
